Meet Lucrezia, the founder
I’m Lucrezia, founder and creative soul behind LS Design Candles.
Born and raised in Italy on the shores of the beautiful Lake Maggiore, I grew up surrounded by beauty and art, from nature to the richness of Italian culture.
I’ve always loved candles, but toward the end of 2023 — a moment in my life when I really felt the need for a change — the idea of making them myself kept growing stronger. It had been on my mind for a while, until one day I decided to take the leap.
I started by ordering my first materials, and soon realized that what began as an experiment had turned into a true passion — a passion that has never left me and that led to the creation of my brand, LS, named after my own initials.
Drawn to design and captivating aesthetics, I knew from the very beginning that my creations had to stand out — they had to be seen as much as felt.
This is what led me to enroll in a renowned design candle academy, to learn new techniques and deepen my expertise: step by step, I began working on pieces that truly reflect my vision — elegant, bold, and distinctive.
Here, each piece goes beyond its design — it’s about the mood it sets and the emotion it sparks. LS is where candles are much more than décor: they are experiences to be lived.
Each candle carries a story— make it yours.
Creative approach
All our pieces and seasonal collections are born from a six-step creative process — where every stylistic choice is intentional and designed to give a candle its own voice and identity.
01 — Visual inspiration
The first step is exploring imagery and visual references to define the mood I want to convey. I study textures, shapes, details, and ornaments to create the aesthetic direction that will guide the entire design/collection.
02 — Concept development
Through a brainstorming session, I put all the key words and concepts related to the piece or collection on paper. This helps me build a first mental map, allowing me to visualize the idea as a whole and identify the elements that will be central.
03 — Color palette
I choose the colors that best reflect the mood and meaning of the candle, always staying true to my brand’s visual identity. This translates into avoiding overly bright or saturated shades, favoring instead neutral palettes — now a distinctive signature of the brand.
04 — Fragrance selection
Scent is another essential element that gives voice to the candle. I select fragrance notes that align with the design of the piece or, in the case of seasonal collections, with the atmosphere of the time of the year.
05 — Sketching
This is the moment when the idea takes tangible form. I create both a paper and a digital sketch of the candle design, based on the previously selected keywords and the concepts I want it to convey.
06 — Wax definition
The final — though no less essential — step is the wax choice. This decision defines the visual and tactile finish of the candle, as each type of wax offers a distinct result in terms of look and feel.
